Book 2 covers: a) initial consonant sounds - n, r; b) blends - bl, cl, tr, br, dr, sw, pr; c) digraphs - wh, sh, ch; d) substitutions or word chunks - ad, an, at, ot, ek, ake, ig, in, it, ing, ay; e) endings - en, er, ed, ing; f) compound words; and g) opposites and synonyms.
The books are laid out in a way that makes them useful support material and activities that can be used for: a) largely independent work; b) a parent supervised group; c) teacher-aide supervised individual/group; or d) a teacher-led shared activity within a reading program.
